200SS-007.jpg
1962 200 Elite SS-007The 200 Élite was introduced in 1959 and was basically a larger version of the 175 Sport. Differences included a part chromed tank and steel wheel rims. US export versions were named the 200 Super Sport and had single rather than twin mufflers. After 1960 the 200s used a sleeved down 250 motor instead of the bored out 175 and weight rose to 111kg. It is hard to tell if this particular bike is an Élite or the produced in 1959 only 200TS (Turismo Speciale) which had the seat and unpainted top half of the rear shocks as seen here but not the abbreviated guards, twin mufflers or side covers with SS decals of this bike. Part of the Saltarelli Collection. Photographed at Fano, Italy in 2008.
